“Old You (Video Edit)” is the soundtrack to the short film from acclaimed animator Cassie Shao. An R&B/dance-influenced track that explores the grief of drifting apart from a loved one, “the song underwent a drastic metamorphosis in response to Shao’s visionary interpretation of our lyrics and the transformative power of Tehillah Alphonso’s vocal choir she arranged and performed,” says Sean David Christensen, singer. “What began as an alternative rock track slowly morphed inward, exploring traumatic memories and fractured personal narratives that Mark (Christopher) & I find challenging, but creatively satisfying places to write songs from.”

"Old You," the accompanying animated short film directed by Shao, depicts a man uncoupled from his past life, set adrift on a shifting seascape of shadows, detritus and lightbulbs. Animated using a hybrid of mixed media and digital techniques, the film continues the band’s partnership with the artist, having won "Best Music Video" at the 69th Columbus International Film & Animation Festival earlier this year, for "Maggie Dave - I’m Not Ready."
